Sneaky ninjas, flying chickens and hilarious chess players! Watch as household junk and bits of rubbish are transformed into live shadow silhouettes in a visual feast for the imagination.
    About the Company
With their novel approach to shadow puppetry, Bunk Puppets performs a series of short shadow puppet stories without words. The silhouettes are made up entirely from a collection of old toys, tools, cardboard boxes and odds and ends. In one scene, a teddy bear becomes a patient's head at the doctor's office, and a horse races across the illusion of a rolling landscape. Stories and characters are revealed in your household rubbish!
To keep the audience involved, all of the puppet making action happens in front of the projection screen so the audience can follow along each step of the way and see how the objects transform into shadow puppet characters. For the audience, each comedy story is like watching a live cartoon on stage. The characters emerge from the objects, and their absurd stories play out. You can watch the action on screen, or watch the mad-scientest puppeteer on stage bending and twisting his body to make the shadows happen. With an imaginative eye, Bunk Puppets shines a playful look on an ancient art form.
