    The Wuxi Ling Shan Buddha is located in the south of the Qinlv Mountain, near Mashan, Wuxi. Though built on a holy site, the statue itself is quite new; it was built in 1997. The location of Wuxi Ling Shan Buddha is Xiao Ling Shan, the mountain named by Xuan Zang back in the Tang Dynasty, and is the origin of the name of the Ling Shan Buddha.

    Description 
    The Wuxi Ling Shan Buddha is located in the south of the Qinlv Mountain, near Mashan, Wuxi. Though built on a holy site, the statue itself is quite new; it was built in 1997. The location of Wuxi Ling Shan Buddha is Xiao Ling Shan, the mountain named by Xuan Zang back in the Tang Dynasty, and is the origin of the name of the Ling Shan Buddha. Wuxi Ling Shan Buddha is the symbol of Wuxi and located near the Ling Shan palace and other attractions, is a popular tourist site for both locals and visitors alike. It is one of the largest Buddha statues in China and also in the world. At 88 meters, The Ling Shan Buddha presently ranks 5th tallest in China and 11th on the scale of tallest Buddhas in the world.  The body of the Buddha is constructed of 1560 copper plates which are 6 to 8 millimeters thick. It weighs over 700 tons and was specially designed to withstand strong typhoons and even earthquakes of up to 8 on the Richter scale.

    景点介绍
    灵山大佛坐落于无锡马山秦履峰南侧,1997年建造而成。大佛所在位置系唐玄奘命名的小灵山,故名灵山大佛。灵山大佛是无锡的标志之一,对社会文化和经济发展具有重大意义。灵山大佛通高88米,佛体79米,莲花瓣9米。灵山大佛佛体(不含莲花瓣)由1560块6-8毫米厚的铜壁板构成,焊缝长达30余公里。灵山大佛铸铜约700吨,铜板面积达九千多平方米,约一个半足球场大小。由于高科技的运用,灵山大佛能抵御14级台风和8级地震的侵袭。部分地区,需要带鞋套,景点的工作人员会提供。部分地区,不准大声讲话。不可嬉戏打闹,不可吵架骂人。
