Longmen ancient town is a small town 50 kilometers south of Hangzhou (265km from Suzhou). It is said that Longmen ancient town is the hometown of Sun Quan, the founder of the state of Eastern Wu during the Three Kingdoms period. The town is famous for its unique Ming and Qing ancient architecture. Behind the village, there is the Longmen Mountain, 1067.6 meters above sea level. Longmen ancient town is the largest village in the greater Fuyang City area. There are more than 2000 households with more than 6000 people, 90% of which are the descendants of Sun Quan counting through sixty-five generations so far.
The long history of Longmen ancient town is a magnet for tourist and has also attracted many well-known films and television works, such as “Switch", "Ji Gong", “The girl in blue " and so on. Longmen ancient town is also renowned for its traditional celebration of the Lantern Festival. A variety of unique traditional lanterns, dragon lanterns and lion dances are presented on a grand scale each year.
