Wuzhen is located in Tongxiang Jiaxing, Zhejiang province. Its former names are Wu Dun and Qing Dun and has a long history of more than six thousand years. It is one of the twenty most popular scenic spots in the region and one of the six ancient towns in Jiangnan. Wuzhen is a typical Han ancient town in the Jiangnan area, it is also called the "land of fish and rice". In 1991, it was recognized by the government as 'Historic and Cultural City of Zhejiang Province', and preservation and tourism development projects began at that time.
In the morning, you can travel to the east gate to visit the ancient folk houses. At noon, you can find flavorful snacks in the town's traditional Snacks Street. In the afternoon, you can go shopping at the ancient town's west gate. Silk and cloth shoes are very typical souvenirs from this area. Boat trips on the lake and tea-tasting the local brews are also polular pastimes for tourists.
